ENERGY VAMPIRES Tribute Web Site Launched - Sep. 17, 2006
Former SLAUTER XSTROYES singer John Stewart has launched a web site for his early '90s project ENERGY VAMPIRES. A MySpace page is also available at this location. A CD re-release of the band's 1991 self titled album is in the works and already has some label interest.

SLAUTER XSTROYES was a cult epic metal band from Chicago. The group released its first album, "Winter Kill", in 1985. According to a press release, the LP "was considered a masterpiece of epic metal from start to finish, but few knew that it would end up being the collector piece it is today. In fact, only 500 copies were released in the area around Chicago. Today this album is considered one of the rarest and most expensive finds out there."

John started ENERGY VAMPIRES in late 1989. And, in 1990 the band made its debut performance in Chicago. The band toured the Midwest extensively and also played the Los Angeles, California area several times in the two years they were touring.

Commented the ENERGY VAMPIRES webmaster: "This site was created because of the overwhelming demand from Europe to know where and what ever became of John and his killer voice. Well, John is alive and well living in Las Vegas, NV."

From the few samples I heard this stuff sounds very interesting... S..X. is definitively O0NE OF THE FEW BANDS that deserves the cult status... not the HEATHENS RAGE, VAVEL and the crap around....

I've heard snippets of this and it seems great. Slauter Xstroyes LP is an all-time godly true metal classic. But Snakepitguy (Laurent?) do you really think Heathen's Rage aren't a fine example of cult metal? Granted, there are many rarities that don't live up to the hype, but that MLP is almost as killer as the "Winterkill" LP. Well, at least in my humble opinion.
